The 102nd Vierdaagse, “Walk of the World” kicked off today in the beautiful city of Nijmengen, and people from all over the world are coming together to walk around the city and its wooded, pristine, surroundings, for the next four days.

There are 47 431 registered walkers in total (27 548 are male and 19 883 are female), 9000 of which are walking 50km a day and festival-goers are loving every moment. The number of military participants registered is 5 849 and the number of different nationalities among civilian participants in the 102nd Four Days Marches is: 82.

But wait, there’s more.

HI-TEC has been the title sponsor for 3 consecutive years.

The brand came onboard as an event partner in 2015 for its 99th year and set out to add something extra to this one-of-a-kind event, like specially designed and manufactured Vierdaagse gear and T-shirts. Visit the official Vierdaagse Shop to see what is up for grabs this and next year.

Our Walking Festival friends, The Freewalkers Adventure Travel Group, are doing 50km a day!

We got them all geared out and ready for the tough stretch they are doing every day. Also (in case you didn’t know) each day is themed, so be sure to see bright and beautiful colours everywhere.

Did you know?

Each day of the marches is named after the biggest town it goes through. Tuesday is the day of Elst, Wednesday the day of Wijchen, Thursday the day of Groesbeek and Friday the day of Cuijk.

Be sure to follow the rest of the event on Facebook during the course of this week.
